Monthly Family Volunteer Requirements

Each family is required to contribute four hours of volunteer time per month. Volunteering helps our school flourish. It's a chance to get to know your child's classmates, work with their teachers, or use your skills to promote our unique school. We offer a wide variety of volunteer options: consider helping at a family event, organizing a weekly classroom bake sale, or working from home on a school-community project.

Parent Association and School Advisory Committees

Parents, please participate in our Parent Association and on our School Advisory Committee.

Parent Association
The Civicorps Elementary School Parent Association (PA) meets once a month. The PA raises money to support our arts program through catalog and cookie dough sales and the annual Night Out Gala and Auction.

School Advisory Council
Three to six parent representatives are elected annually to serve on the School Advisory Council, which helps direct the development of the school's annual strategic plan.

Other Volunteer Opportunities

We have a wide variety of volunteer opportunities available. Both short-term volunteers, who volunteer for a specific project or community event, and longer-term volunteers, who make a two-hour weekly commitment for six months, are needed.

We are looking for volunteers who can:

• provide in-class assistance with literacy, math, and reading;
• support the integration of arts and performing arts activities in the curriculum by providing in-class instruction;
• provide before or after-school care; or
• furnish administrative assistance.
