- 2005 Congressional Conference on Civic
Education in Washington, DC: staff and students spoke
about their service learning projects.
- Featured in the San Francisco Chronicle and
The Generator, the nation's leading service-learning journal:
Civicorps School's environmental justice curriculum and environmental
stewardship model were featured as national models for civic
engagement.
- The Center for Information and Research
on Civic Learning and Engagement (CIRCLE) recognized Civicorps
Elementary School as an innovative model in the assessment
of civic attitudes, behaviors, and skills for elementary
aged students.
- Arts awards: The Civicorps Elementary
School arts program has earned numerous awards and recognition
from a variety of leading arts organizations including:
Precita Eyes Muralists Association's Children's Mural
Award, The Oakland Museum of California's Community Service
Award, and the Museum of Children's Art's Recognition
of Artistic Achievement.
