Civicorps Academy
Academy Sub-Programs
Recycling Program
Successful corpsmembers may apply to the
Recycling Program
for further leadership and skill development. Corpsmembers gain
valuable job skills by managing all recycling operations.
Corps Leader Program
Supervisors choose promising corpsmembers
to take a leadership role on their individual crew and within
the Academy. These leaders participate in weekend leadership training,
attend skill-enhancement classes, and represent the Academy at
the Youth Violence Summit and neighborhood crime prevention meetings.
The Chevron Partnership Grant
The Chevron Partnership Grant supports
career development activities for corpsmembers, including job
shadowing and paid internships. The grant also increases employer
engagement through mentoring and expanded business partnerships.
Civic Justice Corps
The Civic Justice Corps is a program
designed for 16 to 24 year olds who are or have been "court-involved."
The program assesses whether service learning can increase job
placement and post-secondary education rates and reduce recidivism
rates.
Americorps Awards
Although Civicorps Schools is no longer part
of Americorps, students are still eligible to receive Americorps
awards. Americorps awards offer students stipends and a college
scholarship in return for community service.

Christenson, Dean of Students, for Americorps awards information.
